Frequently Asked Questions

Please find some questions and answers below!

What makes your photography different to others?
My photography is often described as cinematic, candid, atmospheric and documentative. I shoot with digital however, I started photography with a film camera and a dark room. This is why I love vintage colour grading that replicates the classic and iconic subtle film texture. Digital photography is amazing because you have a lot more control within post-production, I do really subtle digital refinements techniques and each image is edited individually and carefully by hand. I think this makes my approach very different to the majority of photographers, that mainly just use presets in bulk. It's taken me many years to create my colour grades, so you won't find them anywhere else.
There are so many amazing photographers so every time I get a booking, I'm so honoured. If you're looking for a "bright and airy" photographer that's not me, but I'm happy to suggest others! Anymore questions about my approach, please read more on my about page.
What precautions are you taking due to Covid-19?
I'm now limiting the amount of bookings I take per week, to reduce the risk - so please be patient with me. I have availability from the 24th of August 2020 onwards. I'm now only shooting with a longer lens so that I can ensure I can keep a distance from my subjects. All photo shoots should be outdoors where possible. You will not be able to attend a photo shoot if you or someone close to you has experienced any symptoms within the last 14 days.
I'm avoiding public transport at the moment, so if you are able to meet me in Lewes for a session that would be preferable.
Who can book portraits?
Anyone can! As long as you are following guidelines at the moment. Meaning the people in the portraits must either be in your household or in your "bubble". Individuals are also welcome to book the session. As well as, small businesses or entrepreneurs looking for fresh new images for social media.
Maximum of five people are allowed on one photoshoot, at the moment. Friendly dogs are welcome too!

Please note that a parent or legal guardian will be required to sign a child release form, so please tell me if anyone under the age of 18 will be in the photos. Please be assured that I have the relevant insurances in place and I'm fully background checked.
How much are travel fees?
There are no travel fees within 20 miles of Lewes, East Sussex to one location.
Other locations in Sussex or beyond will be quoted for depending on mileage, please get in touch and let me know where you are based! I'm currently avoiding public transport, so I will try my best to keep the fees as low as possible. For example, fees to central London are approximately £30.
What if the weather is bad
or I'm unwell?
Rescheduling is absolutely fine with good reason! I always check the weather forecast the day before, just to make sure. All I ask is that if you do need to reschedule, please try do so 24 hours prior to our planned session date.
Please note that the deposit paid is non-refundable if you cancel, no matter your reason. This is due to loss of business, time spent doing administration and writing up our contractual agreement. I do so much more than take photos! Running a business is tough and I spend a lot of time discussing and planning your session with you before I've even touched my camera.
What do I wear?
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in! I recommend you wear your favourite outfit, that gives you lots of confidence! Please do not wear clothing or accessories with visible logos or branding. Check out my Pinterest board for some outfit inspiration.
If you are an "influencer" then can you please make me aware of this, as your clothing may be sponsored or gifted. I'm only happy to allow the images to be used to promote ethical brands and should be pre-arranged.
What's your favourite locations?
I have so many locations that I love to shoot at! I don't tend to share the specific locations publicly otherwise all the other photographers will be there...I like the space to not be busy! I recommend you search online for local National Trusts, gardens and parks. Another tip is to check Google Maps for peak times.
Remember to check if there is an entrance fee - as any extra costs will be invoiced and will be your responsibility. However, I find that these locations are so worth it. As a business I'm passionate about supporting nature reserves, so I always encourage you to do your research and pick the perfect location for you. I can help you as well, so just let me know what you're looking for.
How will I receive the final images?
You will receive your final images usually within a week (longer for weddings), via your personalised online gallery. Depending on your chosen package you will be able to download all of them directly or you'll need to "favourite" your chosen images and then purchase more digital images on the online store, should you wish to.
You will also be able to purchase fine-art prints and other keepsakes on the gallery, I really recommend you do this because you won't get this kind of quality on the high-street!
It is your responsibility to back up your images. I do not give the images via USB sticks, in an effort to be more eco-conscious. I cannot stress enough that once you have downloaded your images, you must back them up either online (Google Photos or Dropbox is great!) or on an external hard drive.
What's your pricing?
My pricing starts from £150 for all types of photography. I recommend you head over to my info page and check out which service you'd like more information on. I offer portraits, weddings and personal branding services.
I only offer discounts for charities or non-profit organisations. No requests for "collaborations" (or free/TFP photoshoots), please. I reserve my spare time for my recent art projects, special charitable causes and stylised sessions. Keep an eye out on my social media for any upcoming seasonal mini sessions or model calls.
